While carriers typically carry insurance against damage and loss, this plan provides additional assurance, covering scenarios such as damage from weather, road debris, vandalism, or a carrier going out of business.
In the event of damage, the AFta PLAN covers the deductible up to a maximum amount of $2000, even if the customer has their deductible refunded by their insurance company. Once you’ve received your instant quote, a copy of the information will be sent to your email shortly after.
Calls and Texts
After submitting the quote, AmeriFreight reached out to us by phone within 15 minutes. When there was no answer, they followed up with a text message to prompt us to call back. The next day, they did the same, calling us and sending a follow-up text message.
During the phone conversation, after we called them back, the attendant was friendly and provided an overview of the industry and how it works. They emphasized the importance of working with only one broker instead of multiple. The conversation was efficient, but not rushed, and the attendant made sure that all of the customer’s questions were answered before ending the call.

Like all car shipping brokers, AmeriFreight offers door-to-door car shipping (when possible), open or enclosed trailers, and a wide carrier network. However, AmeriFreight offers some things that not all brokers do:
- Three shipping options: Economy, Priority, and First-Class. These shipping rates provide flexibility around the timing so they cover those with plenty of time to find the best rate, to a guaranteed pickup date. Not all brokers even try to touch a guaranteed pickup date. Accordingly, it takes carrier relationships established over years to be able to do that.
- Payment options – they have split and full payment options. This car shipping company can either take their fee at dispatch with the carrier being paid by the customer at delivery, or AmeriFreight can take the entire payment up front and pay the carrier for you. There is a convenience fee, but there are times when this is needed.
- They offer GAP protection through the AFTA PLAN. Carriers’ insurance only covers a narrow and specific range of damage, but the AFTA PLAN offers extra protection and a reimbursement on deductibles.
- AmeriFreight has a seemingly unique pricing strategy. According to their agents, they price their initial economy rate as a back-hauler rate and work from there. Back-haulers, or truckers heading home, will often take less money for loads as they head back to their domicile. This company looks for back-haulers first. By starting low, they negotiate with carriers to find the best rate. Other auto transport brokers will start higher and may pass the sweet spot, putting more money into the carrier’s pocket than is needed.
