Our take: Best for volume and hours.
Montway moved over 250,000 vehicles last year through a network of more than 30,000 carriers, and that size shows up in useful ways: chat and phone until late, a TruePrice Guarantee that holds your quote for 30 days, and $250,000 of contingent cargo coverage at no charge. It also shows up in the reviews, where the rare bad experience is almost always a carrier communication breakdown. A solid second choice, and the right first choice if you need someone reachable at 9pm.
Pros and cons
What works
- TruePrice Guarantee locks your booked rate for 30 days; Montway covers increases
- $250,000 contingent cargo policy on top of the carrier's insurance
- Longest support hours we have seen, plus live chat with a real agent
- Online booking end to end if you would rather not call
- Allows up to 100 lbs of personal items in the trunk
- Ships to Alaska and Hawaii and handles motorcycles
What to watch
- $249 cancellation fee once a carrier is dispatched
- No guaranteed delivery dates; expedited buys a pickup window only
- Quotes ran toward the higher end in U.S. News' 2026 pricing sample
- Trustpilot sits at 4.0, lower than the others on this list, mostly on carrier hand-off complaints
Ratings across the web
Numbers below were checked in August 2026. Review counts move daily; treat them as a snapshot.
TruePrice Guarantee
The core complaint about brokers is the quote that grows. Montway's answer is a 30-day lock: once you confirm a booked price, Montway eats any carrier increase inside that window. Read it carefully. The lock starts when you confirm, not when you get the instant quote, and instant quotes expire after seven days. Used correctly it removes most of the pricing anxiety.
Insurance
Montway includes a $250,000 contingent cargo policy. It only pays when the carrier's own insurer denies a valid claim, so it is a backstop rather than primary coverage, but it is a meaningful one and it costs nothing extra. Personal items in the car are not covered by anyone.
Fees to know about
No deposit at booking. Once a carrier is assigned you owe a partial payment (typically $249 or less) if paying cash on delivery, or the full amount by card or PayPal if you want Montway to handle carrier payment. Cancel after dispatch and the $249 stays with Montway. Cancel before dispatch and you are refunded in full.
What the reviews say
The good reviews praise the agents and the hours. The bad reviews almost always describe the same thing: a carrier reassigned at the last minute, multiple drivers calling about the same pickup, or a vehicle sitting in a tow yard while dispatch sorts it out. Montway's volume means this happens to a small percentage of customers, but a small percentage of 250,000 is still a lot of stories. If it happens to you, call Montway immediately rather than the driver; that is what the contingent support is for.
Who it is for
People who want to book online without a phone call, anyone who needs support outside business hours, and customers who value a locked price over the lowest opening number.
